Im a couple of days into twitter and i see a whole bunch of people with thousands of followers. I have no clue how they did it, because they arent even "popular" people. They are just regular everyday people like me. I mean i would understand if it was some ‘celebrity" but, no, these are virtually quote on quote unknown people. Please, is there a way i can get more twitter followers?

To be honest, I have no clue… it seems to actually get things, it has to come out of your pocket nowadays. x) You have to keep in mind that people won’t just come to you, you have to actually work at it. I’ve only been using Twitter for about a month and a half now; I don’t have any money but the only FREE way to get more followers that I found was most effective was simply just talking to people! The place I found where you can easily find people to @reply to is the Public Timeline:

It’s pretty much random tweets but you can usually find decent ones to reply back to. On average MOST of them reply back to you (some don’t just because… well they don’t). I usually reply back to all my tweets (unless they’re those annoying spam bots). :]

Another effective way is just simply tweeting often. By tweeting often you tweets become more visible on the Public Timeline so more people are bound to follow you (they may just be bots at first but eventually REAL people will follow you).

Or… if you want to take a "chance", just follow random people. Follow for follow as they call it. x) Some won’t follow you back unless you actually talk to them but if they like you just by looking at your profile, they may follow you anyways.

It takes time and patience; don’t expect thousands of followers if you don’t do anything but just talk to yourself.
